Objective To explore the impact of Parkinson's physical exercise on the motor function and ability of daily living in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD).Methods Thirty-eight PD patients were selected from those who had been hospitalized during April 2013 to July 2014 and were divided into two groups: treatment group and control group. The former group was provided with clinical conventional medical treatment and routine rehabilitation, as well as Parkinson's physical exercise, for two hours every day, while the later one received only clinical conventional medical treatment and routine rehabilitation. Clinical observations were taken after 5 and 14 months of treatment.Results After treatment for 5 months, the scores of both UPDRS II and UPDRS III for the two groups were significantly lower than before (P<0.05). The scores for the treatment group after 14 months of treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.01) and those after 5 months of treatment (P<0.05). There were significant differences in the scores of UPDRS II and UPDRS III between the two groups after 5 and 14 months of treatment (P<0.05).Conclusions Parkinson's physical exercise can improve both the motor function and ability of daily living in PD patients, and it has good long-term clinical efficacy.
